It is my pleasure to write these few lines to celebrate the birth of an absolutely unique magazine that will certainly appeal to a worldwide audience of people who want to understand better Japan and its rich history and traditions.
As I have been living for a few years in Japan already, I always envied the amount and quality of information available here in the Japanese language which is, I must confess, still difficult for me to fully understand.
"International Kateigaho" will give a new perspective to all those, like me, who love Japan. Welcome! |

Nina Ricci Prestige K.K. / Parfums Nina Ricci Japon K.K.Luis Aranha, President & CEO
The Japanese word "shiawase" means "happiness" for us foreigners.
But for the Japanese means "perfect matching", "harmony". I believe that
the cooperation between Sekaibunka company and my dear friend Takeshi
Kudo is synonymous of shiawase, and I couldn't be happier to be
able to send a few words of incitement. For a foreign manager in Japan
the biggest problem is not the language or the cultural differences. These,
we learn to integrate in our daily lives and little by little (I do prefer
the Japanese expression "dondon", which means also little by little
but in a decided way). The biggest of all problems is the cultural gap
about Japan that so often exists in head offices, equally in Europe or
in the USA. Hopefully, the new issue of Kateigaho, focused in Japanese
culture and art and written in English (and maybe also French and other
European languages) can help us to fill this gap.

Japan is a fascinating contrasted country. Attached to its traditions, though incredibly modern. Conservative but constantly changing. Spiritual and materialistic. Who better than Kateigaho could take the challenge of making this understandable to non-Japanese? Congratulations, and best wishes for success to Kateigaho International. |

There are moments of pleasure like no others: like the unveiling of a new work of art, the rise of the curtain at the beginning of a new play, the morning discovery of a place you have reached late the night before. And soon, I hear, Japan as never shown or explained before... I shall be there... |

Kateigaho has always been the highest magazine standard for me when it comes to introducing the many beauties of Japanese lifestyle. I have always dreamed of and waited for this, in my opinion, best visual quality in the world, to be introduced to an international audience. To explore modern and traditional Japanese and Western culture for readers who look for new home lifestyles and cultural experiences, is a much awaited initiative which will have our full support and endorsement.
