Ryo: Beat the Heat in Edo Style
Ryo: Beat the Heat in Edo Style
Ryo, in Japanese, means “to feel cool.” Since olden times, when Tokyo was known by the name of Edo, Japanese have devised stylish and environmentally sound ways to create ryo on hot summer days-ways that may not actually lower the temperature, but instead evoke coolness through refreshing colors, shapes, sounds, and scents. Let’s beat the summer swelter in true Edo style!
